Christian Education

University Presbyterian Church offers many educational opportunities. The program's foundation is an active Sunday School for people of all ages, using strong Bible based curriculums. Additional classes for adults dealing with contemporary issues are also offered. These include lecture style classes as well as video-discussion formats and workshop style sessions. Throughout the year a variety of other classes are presented, including seasonal and topical midweek Bible studies.

Bible study, fellowship and prayer are the main ingredients of our Growth Groups. This small group ministry provides the framework for spiritual growth as well as for opportunities to know each other better. Within the small caring groups we make deep friendships and discuss issues that help us grow in our faith.


In addition to their participation in our regular classes an active group of senior adults meets regularly for breakfast and has special days each month set aside for afternoon fellowships. They also participate in several service projects through our Outreach ministries.

In addition to Sunday School our Children's ministry includes classes on worship and special opportunities for our children to participate in worship services. A fully equipped Nursery with trained workers to care for infants and toddlers is available during classes and worship services. Vacation Bible School is held each summer, with many children from the community participating. It is a highlight of the year for the whole congregation!

An important part of the teenage years is being involved in an active youth group called The God Squad. Youth have opportunities to learn, work, and worship together in a variety of ways. Youth at University Presbyterian Church are an integral part of the life of the congregation serving and growing in their faith alongside the rest of the congregation. Sunday School, small group studies for the older youth and worship participation are all part of the teenage educational experience at University Presbyterian.
